What you achieve
The entire vSphere Layer up to Level vCenter is your responsibility. You also oversee the vCloud Director and parts of the hardware layer, and you are responsible for monitoring all infrastructure components as well as managing many basic systems (e.g. Active Directory, DNS, NTP). With your in-depth knowledge of scripting and programming languages, you also help to improve existing automation and automate manual tasks. You develop the platform according to the expectations of product managers. In addition, you adapt the architecture to new requirements. In the event of technical problems, you take the troubleshooting lead. Plus, you lead technical committees and provide information at the appropriate level.
Why you succeed
- Degree (Uni/UAS/technical college) in computer science, preferably in systems engineering
- Many years of experience as Senior Lead Engineer in VMware vSphere
- Experience in one or more programming/script languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, and JavaScript
- Excellent communication skills within the team as well as with our suppliers and customers
- Quick comprehension combined with an analytical and structured approach
- Ability to quickly find your way in a changing organization and with new tasks
- Motivated to solve challenges, enjoying working with many different people
- Ready to take on regular 7/24 on-call duty and, on rare occasions, night duty
- Very good German and English
